Spyros James Lazaris is an experienced intellectual property lawyer and strategist who found Lazaris IP in 2010, and has practiced Intellectual Property law in the United States for more than 13 years at large, multi-national law firms. He has extensive experience all forms of intellectual property law, including patent litigation and patent procurement and prosecution. The firm is headquartered in Los Angeles, California.
Mr. Lazaris holds a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, a Master's degree in Business Administration, and a Juris Doctor degree. He is admitted to practice law in the state of California as well as with the United States Patent & Trademark Office.
Mr. Lazaris specializes in counseling small and medium-sized companies and early-stage and developing entities such as startups, in the areas of strategic IP counseling, patent prosecution, and transactional matters such as licensing, technology transfer and all forms of IP due diligence. He has represented clients around the world in developing sophisticated intellectual proeprty strategies for protecting and leveraging IP assets. He has also handled complex patent litigation in a variety of technical fields and industries in courts around the United States. Mr. Lazaris is an active participant in the global community of intellectual property practicitioners and has an extensive domestic and international network of colleagues in the field of intellectual property. He also consults frequently on various cross-border issues in U.S.-European intellectual property matters.
Mr. Lazaris represents companies across a wide variety of technical disciplines. He has a particular emphasis on advising emerging entities in the renewable resources and clean tech sector, especially those involved in solar, photovoltaics and wind energy. Mr. Lazaris is also a frequent author and speaker on various topics in intellectual property law.
