Background
I grew up in Virginia. I have also lived in New York, Los Angeles and Washington, DC. Before attending law school, I worked at a dot-com company and in the publishing industry.I first came to North Carolina to attend the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I liked it so much that, a few detours notwithstanding, I decided to stay. I graduated from Duke Law School, where I served as an editor on the Duke Law and Technology Review and the Alaska Law Review. I am often asked which team I root for (answer: Carolina). I currently live outside of Chapel Hill and am proud to work in downtown Durham.
Experience
I began my legal career as a litigator for a large law firm in Washington, DC, where I represented both corporate and non-profit clients in high-dollar litigation in state and federal courts.I serve as a volunteer attorney for Legal Aid of North Carolina, where I assist low-income individuals with consumer and employment matters. I also represent clients on a pro bono basis through the North Carolina Lawyers for Entrepreneurs Assistance Program administered by the North Carolina Bar Association.
