Offering legal counsel to small businesses, entrepreneurs and creative professionals. My services include comprehensive business start-up assistance, as well as task based work on specific projects, including contracts, intellectual property (trademarks, copyright, and trade secret protection), employment and general compliance issues. Coming from a small business background, my focus is on providing practical and flexible legal counsel solutions so you can concentrate on your business.
I am attorney working small business clients in the Providence, Rhode Island area. I also act as in-house counsel to a family-owned distribution company and growing manufacturing business where I advise business owners on a host of legal matters pertaining to business development, intellectual property protection and environmental, health and safety compliance. I also currently serve as a volunteer attorney for the Rhode Island Bar Association Volunteer Lawyers Program and the United States Armed Forces Legal Services Project.
Along with developing a focus on small business issues, I previously worked as a civil litigation associate and then as a consultant for a global legal information provider. My prior experience also includes work in the public sector, including internships with the Rhode Island Department of the Attorney General, the Denver City Attorney's Office and U.S. Senator jack Reed.
I received my BA in history from the University of Vermont and my law degree from the University of Denver College of Law, where I was a member of the Journal of International Law and Policy and spent a summer studying international law at Trinity College in Dublin Ireland.
