Laurie Rowen graduated magna cum laude from UCLA and was admitted into Phi Beta Kappa. She attended University of San Diego School of Law, where she was an associate editor of the San Diego Law Review. During law school, Laurie led a supplemental course in Torts for first year law students, and served as President of the Student Bar Association. She obtained her Juris Doctor, cum laude, in 2004.
Laurie was an associate at Snell & Wilmer, LLP in Costa Mesa from 2004 to 2008. She defended entertainment and amusement venues, consumer products manufacturers, pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers, and automobile manufacturers in product liability, premises liability, environmental law, and commercial litigation. Laurie prepared and argued numerous motions in state and federal court, took the lead on over 50 depositions, conducted complex discovery, prepared for dozens of trials, and was a primary associate on several trials during her time at Snell & Wilmer.
Laurie left Snell & Wilmer after having her first daughter, and co-founded Montage Legal Group in early 2009. Laurie is currently doing contract work for several law firms. Her contract work has given her experience in numerous areas of law, including family law, employment litigation, real estate litigation, business litigation, health care litigation, construction defect and class actions.
In addition to her legal work, Laurie Rowen is the President of the Board of Directors of Women Helping Women, an Orange County non-profit dedicated to providing business apparel, image consulting and employment search support to low-income women to assist them in attaining and sustaining employment. Laurie has also been featured in numerous publications, including CNBC, Yahoo Finance, Women Lawyers Online, and was named one of OC Metro Magazine’s 2011 Top 40 under 40.
