At the business and corporate law level, Perdomo, Klukosky & Associates provides corporate counseling, advising clients with everything legally necessary to launch, grow, and maintain a business. This type of advisement can range from intellectual property issues, including copyright and trademarks, securing domestic and international licenses, to the negotiation of business agreements, including partnerships and joint ventures, consulting, sales and marketing, real estate, and employment.
Francelina (Fran) Perdomo received her Doctor en Derecho (J.D. equivalent) from Universidad Iberoamericana (Unibe), in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, in 1999. While still studying for her degree, Ms. Perdomo began her legal career as an intern at a well- respected firm in Santo Domingo, working in intellectual property matters, such as the registration of foreign patents and trademarks in the Dominican Republic.
Ms. Perdomo’s interest in corporate law both in the Dominican Republic and abroad led her to Cornell University Law School, where she obtained an L.L.M. degree focusing specifically on contracts, intellectual property law, corporations, and alternative dispute resolution. She continued her studies at Universite de Paris I (Pantheon Sorbonne), where she received a Certificat in Droit Compare, with a concentration in U.S. and E.U. contract and corporate law.
After completing her studies in 2000, Ms. Perdomo joined Pellerano & Herrera, one of the most prestigious law firms in the Dominican Republic. She subsequently acquired years of experience in cross-border commercial transactions, and in assisting clients with issues associated with business expansion in the U.S. and abroad, with firms both in the Dominican Republic and in New York City.
In March of 2010, Ms. Perdomo decided to take her knowledge and experience in the fields of corporate law, litigation and cross-border commercial transactions to a more personal level—addressing the needs of the small business owner and individual client with her own firm, Perdomo Law.
Ms. Perdomo’s fluency in Spanish, her multi-cultural approach, and her knowledge of both Dominican and American law give her a unique and valuable approach to the legal needs of her clients. She is admitted to practice law in both New York and the Dominican Republic, and is a member of the New York City Bar Association, Volunteer Lawyers For the Arts, and Women in Music.
