Deborah Hrbek focuses her practice on entertainment and business law, representing artists and other creative people, independent record labels, TV and film production companies, as well as investors in the arts. Hrbek's clients also include entrepreneurs, small business owners and startup Internet and technology companies. Hrbek’s clients include an Oscar winning film production team and a Booker Prize short-listed novelist.
Raised in Palo Alto, CA and London, England, Hrbek received her law degree at King's College, Cambridge University, and went on to qualify as a barrister. After an initial 8-year stint in Manhattan she practiced in the British Virgin Islands for two years during the height of the global dot-com boom. Hrbek handled a variety of general transactional matters for emerging technology companies, and prepared investment agreements and other financing documents. After transferring back to Manhattan to work at Beck & Arad LLP, the New York firm affiliated with her BVI employer, Hrbek started her own law firm in downtown Manhattan in 2002.
