I focus my law practice in the areas of tax and corporate law, with particular emphases in the representation of tax-exempt organizations, social enterprises and small businesses. For over 5 years I served as a Senior Staff Attorney in Public Counsel’s Community Development Project. While at Public Counsel, I developed expertise in a variety of areas by providing transactional legal assistance to low-income entrepreneurs and nonprofits. I also built strong relationships with nonprofit business assistance agencies that provide free or low-cost business training & counseling services to entrepreneurs. For 3 years after I left Public Counsel I worked with nonprofit business assistance agencies throughout California, which allowed me to expand my practice to the San Francisco Bay Area. This work distinguishes me from other small business attorneys as I have a background in small business consulting. From 1997-2001 I was an Associate at Latham & Watkins in Los Angeles and Miller & Chevalier in Washington, DC.

I'm also the Leader of the Online Bar Association - Los Angeles, which is a new organization dedicated to assessing and re-vamping the business of the practice of law.
