Anne Shaw

We are a general practice law firm specializing in civil litigation, personal injury, business law, commercial and corporate law, consumer bankruptcy, divorce, real estate, employment law, and estate planning. We have represented companies ranging from Fortune 500 firms to start up businesses. Anne specializes in business litigation and formation for companies ranging from partnerships to limited liability companies.

Anne I. Shaw is a founding officer and shareholder of Shaw Legal Services, Ltd. Her practice concentrates in civil litigation in the areas of  business, commercial, civil rights and personal injury. Her firm also handles a vast array of work including, estate planning, corporate transactional work, consumer bankruptcy, family law, and real estate law.  

She has been invited to and has taught continuing legal education classes to other attorneys, including a consumer bankruptcy course for the Asian American Bar Association of Greater Chicago (AABA) and a course on “Small Business Basics” for the American Bar Association.

Ms. Shaw actively serves the legal and general community. Most recently she helped found and co-chaired the Chinatown Pro Bono Legal Clinic with the AABA in 2010. She has also co-chaired the Judicial Evaluation Committee for AABA; was President of the Asian American Bar Association; Chaired the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook County’s Asian Advisory Council; currently serves as the President of the Asian American Bar Association’s Law Foundation; was a Past President of DePaul University’s Asian Alumni Association; Past Vice President of the East Village Association; Co-Treasurer of the Asian American Institute; a Leadership Circle Member of the Asian American Action Fund of Greater Chicago; and a current board member and Secretary of DePaul University’s Alumni Board. In October 2009, Ms. Shaw was appointed to serve as a Commissioner on the Cook County Board of Ethics.

Ms. Shaw recently received the prestigious Sandra R. Otaka Leadership Award from the Asian American Bar Association in 2010. In 2009 she was named a “Best Lawyer Under 40” by the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association and she received the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook County’s Civic Leader Award. In 2008, Ms. Shaw was named as one of Chicago Lawyer’s and Chicago Law Bulletin’s 2008 “40 Lawyers Under 40 to Watch.” 

Ms. Shaw is a graduate of Chicago Kent College of Law.
