I work with a broad range of digital media and entertainment clients including free-lancers, entrepreneurs, entertainers and artists, as well as larger corporate entities and organizations. I also advise a wide array of clients as a technologist and business consultant. Finally, I also am a co-founder and the Chief Information Officer of Paperlex LLC (http://www.paperlex.com).
Prior to joining MMD, I worked at the law firm of Cowan, DeBaets, Abrahams & Sheppard LLP on a broad range of complex transactional and litigation matters.
I advise my clients during the selection, clearance, and prosecution of their copyrights and trademarks. I also have experience representing clients in UDRP proceedings for domain name disputes. I frequently negotiate and draft a wide variety of technology and start-up related documents and agreements. Finally, I also help my clients to structure their business.
Computers, and Internet technologies are not merely professional interests. I started off on computers, first with a Commodore 64 and then the Amiga. After scouring the BBS's of the early 90s, I continued to explore the early Internet. After earning an Information Systems degree from UNC Chapel Hill, I worked as a network administrator and as a website and software developer, prior to attending law school. I received my law degree from Brooklyn Law School, where I focused my studies on intellectual property law, entertainment law and Internet technology law.
