This article explains some of the perils of employing a family member (or members).  The article highlights both practical perils (for example, it can often be difficult to separate business and family ties, and one or the other might be unable to handle the strain) and legal perils (for example, some family members might also be shareholders of the business).  It ends with some very general guidelines for avoiding problems should you in fact decide to hire a family member.
