Update: Google finally files to protect CHROME trademarks

Google launched their foray into the browser market, Chrome, more than three years ago.  However, Google's failure to protect their Chrome brand via trademark caused some consternation, as expressed in a prior article.  This article updates the prior article, as Google has filed with the USPTO to register the trademarks.  As the article observes, even though Google got lucky, failing to protect what turns into a successful brand often leads to litigation and other costly headaches.
