Understanding the SEC Whistleblower Program

One of the legal responses in the wake of the financial crisis was to mandate that the SEC provide awards to individuals who report violations of the federal securities laws at their companies.  This article examines how Dodd-Frank mandated this system work, how the whistleblower provisions fit into the current system of corporate governance and provides some guidance for companies in light of the whistleblower provisions.
