Trademarks don’t always have to be unique – PETER PAN, DELTA, MONEYBALL and more

Although many articles talk about protecting your brand by registering your trademark, and point out the value-add a strong, well-protected brand, what they don't tell you is that trademark protection doesn't make your brand unique.  Illustrations include words which are so common that they are used by many companies (such as Apple), and trademarks held simultaneously by different companies in divergent industries (such as Peter Pan, movie character/peanut butter/more).
