Social Networks and Privacy: Learning from Facebook’s Mistakes

This article analyzes the FTC's complaint against Facebook and attempts to draw lessons regarding how social networks should treat their users' personal information based on the FTC's allegations.  The article discerns three main deceptive practices relating to users' privacy settings alleged against Facebook, and highlights how other social networks (or any internet application with a privacy policy) can avoid similar pitfalls.
