How much is one Twitter follower worth?

A recent California lawsuit poses an interesting question, given the increased use of social media as a marketing and customer interaction platform.  An employee of Phonedog had his employers' name in his Twitter handle, but removed it after leaving the company.  Phonedog sued, claiming that the employee's 17,000 Twitter followers were company property.  This article looks at the lawsuit, and posits the type of evidence Phonedog will need to offer to recover from their ex-employee.
