FTC Landmark Privacy Report: Key Takeaways

The Federal Trade Commission ("FTC") recently released a hugely important report on consumer privacy which, in light of the rapidly changing technology in this area, will require most businesses which handle individuals' information to make their practices conform with the FTC's expectations or risk enforcement proceedings, with all the negative consequences accompanying such proceedings.  This article summarizes the FTC's report and presents a number of key takeaways from this important release.
