Employees vs. Independent Contractors

Although some startups hire some workers as independent contractors in order to avoid the administrative and monetary expenses of having employees, classifying workers as independent contractors when in reality they operate as employees can have severe legal consequences for business owners. This article touches on some of the risks involved with misclassifying workers, as well as some of the factors used to determine the difference between the two.
