California Department of Corporations Proposes New Private Fund Exemption

A California state rule exempting certain private fund managers from being required to register as investment advisers recently expired.  This article examines a new rule passed by California regulators in the wake of this expiration; as the article explains, the new rule extends the prior rule and proposes a new exemption based on a model rule published by NASAA.
