Buying a Business: Due Diligence 101

Before consummating the purchase of a business, the buyer will want to perform due diligence on the company which they are buying.  This makes sense, as businesses cost a lot of money, and the buyer will want to make sure they are buying what they think they are paying for (this article likens it to purchasing a car).  This article explains the general purposes of due diligence in purchasing a company, and sets forth the various parts of due diligence in this context.
