In addition to ensuring that the client knows in advance how much a project is going to cost, it also removes the concern that billing sheets are being inflated. However, there are times when it simply isn't possible to provide flat rate pricing due to the impossibility of predicting how much time and effort is going to be involved in a particular undertaking. In such instances, the firm strives to keep clients fully informed regarding the time and costs associated with their matter(s) so there are no unpleasant surprises come invoice/statement time.
