AIRIA Nightclub has Trademark Problems

May 6, 2012

This article reviews a dispute between nightclubs in Arizona and Los Angeles which demonstrates trademark law's confusingly similar doctrine.  The article points out that the nightclubs in question do not share a name, but their names might be homonyms (one of the clubs' names can be pronounced multiple ways), and although the clubs are not direct competitors, the geographical distance is not dispositive.
