A Word to Small Business Owners: Do't Be Afraid to Negotiate Contracts

Regardless of the size of your business, you have a right to try to negotiate the terms of a contract.  Therefore, even if you believe the other party has an unequal balance of power in the transaction, do not assume there is no room for you to try to change unfavorable, proposed terms.  This Article addresses several of the material terms of a contract that a party should not be afraid to negotiate if it feels that any of them are unfair, understanding that generally a bad contract is not better than no contract at all.
